K2 BASE CAMP + GONDOGORO LA
16-Day Skardu → Skardu Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrive in Skardu
Arrive in Skardu and meet the group. Settle into the accommodation, meet the local trekking team and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Overnight: Skardu — Hotel
Day 2 — Skardu → Askole
Drive from Skardu to Askole by 4WD jeep. The journey takes approximately 6–7 hours and follows dramatic mountain valleys deeper into the Karakoram.
Once in Askole, we'll prepare for the trek and spend the night at camp.
Overnight: Askole — Camp
Day 3 — Askole → Jhola
The trek officially begins.
We'll leave Askole and follow the Braldu Valley towards Jhola, beginning our journey along the Baltoro region.
Trekking: ~5–6 hours
Overnight: Jhola — Camp
Day 4 — Jhola → Paiju
Continue towards Paiju, following the Baltoro route through increasingly dramatic mountain scenery.
This is a longer trekking day as we begin getting deeper into the Karakoram.
Trekking: ~6–7 hours
Overnight: Paiju — Camp
Day 5 — Acclimatisation & Rest at Paiju
A rest and acclimatisation day at Paiju.
This gives the group time to recover, prepare for the higher elevations and take in the surrounding mountains.
Overnight: Paiju — Camp
Day 6 — Paiju → Khoburtse
Leave Paiju and continue towards Khoburtse.
The landscape becomes increasingly rugged as we approach the Baltoro Glacier and the huge peaks surrounding the route.
Trekking: ~5–6 hours
Overnight: Khoburtse — Camp
Day 7 — Khoburtse → Urdukas
Continue along the Baltoro route towards Urdukas.
This section offers incredible views of the surrounding Karakoram peaks and glaciers.
Trekking: ~4–5 hours
Overnight: Urdukas — Camp
Day 8 — Urdukas → Goro II
A longer trekking day takes us deeper into the Baltoro Glacier region.
As we approach Goro II, the landscape becomes increasingly dominated by massive peaks, including views towards Masherbrum.
Trekking: ~6–7 hours
Overnight: Goro II — Camp
Day 9 — Goro II → Concordia
One of the major highlights of the expedition.
We'll trek towards Concordia, entering one of the most spectacular mountain amphitheatres on Earth, surrounded by some of the world's highest peaks.
Views of K2 and Broad Peak begin to dominate the skyline.
Trekking: ~4–5 hours
Overnight: Concordia — Camp
Day 10 — Concordia → K2 Base Camp → Concordia
The big day.
We'll make our way from Concordia towards K2 Base Camp, travelling through some of the most spectacular terrain of the entire trek.
After reaching K2 Base Camp, we'll take time to experience the surroundings before returning to Concordia.
Trekking: ~10–12 hours total
Overnight: Concordia — Camp
Day 11 — Concordia → Ali Camp
We begin the journey towards Gondogoro La.
Trek from Concordia towards Ali Camp, where we'll prepare for the following day's high-altitude pass crossing.
Trekking: ~6–7 hours
Overnight: Ali Camp — Camp
Day 12 — Ali Camp → Gondogoro La → Khuspang
The hardest and most technical day of the trek.
We'll cross Gondogoro La at approximately 5,585m, using fixed ropes and glacier equipment where required.
This is a demanding high-altitude crossing with spectacular views across the Karakoram.
After crossing the pass, descend towards Khuspang.
Trekking: ~10–11 hours
Highest point: ~5,585m
Overnight: Khuspang — Camp
Day 13 — Khuspang → Saicho
Descend further into the Hushe Valley.
After the intensity of Gondogoro La, this is a chance to enjoy the changing landscape as we move towards lower elevations.
Overnight: Saicho — Camp
Day 14 — Saicho → Hushe
Continue descending towards Hushe.
The environment changes dramatically as we leave the high glacier terrain behind.
Trekking: ~4–5 hours
Overnight: Hushe — Camp
Day 15 — Hushe → Skardu
The final day of the expedition.
After breakfast, we'll drive from Hushe back to Skardu, completing our loop through the Karakoram.
Arrive in Skardu, check into the hotel and celebrate the completion of the trek with the group.

Day 16 — Depart Skardu
Final breakfast in Skardu before departing for your onward journey.
Trip complete.
